• Equally important, get an accident report, (but not until at least five days after the accident occurred) from the police department which responded to the accident.
• • Do not rely on the “Motorist Report” that you may have received from the police officer at the scene of the accident.

• It is also prudent to contact a physician following a car accident. Even in simple “fender bender” car accidents, a person can suffer back and neck injuries that may have a lasting effect.

• Get the names and phone numbers of all witnesses to the accident.

Do not make any type of statement
